The works of Federica Curculacos, Federica Dal Lago, Giacomo Gilli and Giulia Milani will be exhibited in the wine hall from 12 September to 22 November 2020.
The title Material souls underlines the desire to capture moods and sensations through the shooting of individual parts of the body. Each fragment and detail has its own particular expressiveness, which acquires different meanings in the eyes of the user, stimulating new interpretations.
It is a journey in search of "formal beauty" often hidden in the movements and gestures of the hands, belly, shoulders, feet captured from unusual and close points of view thanks to unusual "focus".
Thus the black and white photos of Federica Curculacos constitute the trait d’union, which marks the entire path, managing to materialize in the immediacy of each shot the soul that lies behind every movement of the skin.
Federica Dal Lago re-elaborates the nudity of the female body, transfiguring it through the gurgling of plant elements that in their expansion and branching seem to absorb the forms into a whole, in the continuity of space and in the contrast between full and empty.
The subtle relationship between modesty and eros becomes the central theme of Giulia Milani's works. The figures appear ethereal, almost suspended through the liquid chromatic layers that delicately reveal the underlying sensuality.
Giacomo Gilli instead charges the image with tension thanks to the incisive force of the sign, which captures the movement of the lights in the contrast between light and dark; thus emerges every emotional impulse that flows under the external surface.
